Working capital for a specific need

A contract to start, a season to get through, inventory to finance: when the need is clear, working capital can bridge the gap.

Before you apply

This product is for operating businesses with regular revenue.

Working capital is not a last resort. Lenders mostly look at your recent bank statements: if the business is going through serious difficulties, it is better to talk about it openly before submitting a file.

  • An active business, with regular deposits into its account
  • Few or no NSFs or late payments in recent months
  • More than one year in business
  • A personal credit score of 650 or more
  • A specific need: you know what the money is for and how it will be repaid
  • The funds are not used to repay another cash flow loan

When it helps

A clear need, with a beginning and an end.

Starting a contract

Hire, buy materials and get the job started before the client's first payment.

Getting through a slow season

Keep your employees and pay your fixed costs while you wait for sales to pick up.

Financing inventory

Buy in larger quantities before a busy period, or take advantage of a supplier price.

Seizing an opportunity

A growth project that can't wait until the end of the fiscal year.

Keep your team working

Working capital is for getting through a specific moment: a contract starting, a large order, a slower season. The goal is to keep the business running while payments come in.

Real example

$85,000 over 14 months

A drone technology company

Its devices were too specialized for a lender to take as collateral, so equipment financing wasn't possible. Instead, we obtained a cash flow loan based on the company's activity, so it could buy its equipment and keep growing.

A lighter file

Fewer documents than for equipment.

Each request is reviewed by the lender according to its own criteria.

  • For a request under $100,000: ID and the business's last 6 to 9 bank statements are usually enough.
  • For a request over $100,000: the same documents, plus your recent financial statements.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask me about working capital.

How is it repaid?

Through fixed payments, over a term known in advance. Depending on the lender, payments can be monthly, weekly or more frequent. We look together at what your cash flow can handle.

Is it more expensive than an equipment loan?

Often, yes, because there is no asset as collateral. That is why I suggest it for a specific, temporary need, not to replace equipment financing when that is possible.

Can I use it for anything?

It is for the needs of the business. The lender will want to understand what the money is for: the clearer the need, the stronger the file.

My bank turned down a line of credit. Is it still possible?

It depends on the reason for the refusal. The lenders I work with look closely at bank statements and recent activity, not just financial statements.

A cash flow need to fill?

Tell me what the money is for and over how long. I will tell you honestly what is realistic and which documents to prepare.
